Welcome, thanks for stopping by and reading a little bit about me. My name is Harjot and I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor. From a young age, I always knew I wanted to help others. Growing up, I volunteered quite a bit to give back to the community. After obtaining my Bachelor of Science degree from SFU, I started my career off as a teacher in the Surrey School District. I have been an educator for over twelve years. My journey has led me to work with individuals, families, children, and youth. Some areas I have worked with are: anxiety, grief, loss, self-esteem, parent-child relationships, social skills, friendship skills, learning disabilities, academic challenges, life transitions, career and education planning, etc. My passion lies in making a positive impact by helping others steer through life's challenges.
I am extremely empathetic and provide a safe, non-judgemental space for my clients. This carefully cultivated environment encourages openness and honesty, providing individuals with the freedom to explore their thoughts and emotions authentically. I operate from a culturally sensitive and trauma-informed lens by acknowledging and respecting the unique background of each person. Being bicultural, I understand the challenges that can arise in navigating life from different perspectives.
I believe that many of the answers you seek are within yourself and together we can work on uncovering them. I employ various therapeutic modalities to address your unique needs, some of which include: child-centered play therapy, solution-focused therapy, person-centered therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and mindfulness practices. I have a background in science, so I connect the mind and body in my approach as well. I also believe inbeing a life-long learner so I continue to attend workshops and seminars to hone my skills.
I welcome the opportunity to connect to see how I can help you with your wellness.
